The Council for the Professional Development of Employees in Local Self-Government Units held its eighteenth session this year today in the SKIP Center, at which, among other things, summarised the results achieved in 2018, which can be assessed as significant for the overall improvement of capacity building and professional development of employees in local self-government units. The most important activity was related to the preparation of the Sectoral Program of Continuing Professional Development in the local self-government units for 2019. This program contains 16 areas of professional development and 77 thematic units, and from its realization, positive effects are expected in raising the level of knowledge and skills of employees in the bodies of local self-government units, as it includes topics from the competencies of local self-government units that are significant or distinguishable by most of the authorities in this level of government. Also, the Council considered the Proposal for a general training program in local self-government units for 2019, in the part relating to the Introductory Training Program and the General Program for Continuing Professional Development and the Proposal of the Training Program for Managers in Local Government Units self-government for 2019 and gave an opinion without objection, with suggestions for considering individual issues related to the content of these programs for their improvement. In accordance with legal authorisations, the Council has completed all procedures related to giving opinions on the requirements for accreditation of the vocational training program implementers in local self-government units submitted in accordance with the Public Invitation published by the Ministry of State Administration and Local Self-Government in 2017. On the basis of 421 opinions of the Council, the Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government made appropriate decisions on the accreditation of natural and legal persons for the implementers of the program of professional development in the units of local self-government. Then, the Council gave 30 opinions on the proposals of special programs for professional development of employees in local self-government units, as well as on the proposals of special programs for professional development of employees in local administrations of districts Lučani, Vrnjačka Banja, Dimitrovgrad, Plandište, Vladimirci, Opovo, Medveđa, Gornji Milanovac , Temerin, Bečej, Babusnica, Bujanovac, Sid and Surdulica, city administrations of the cities of Niš, Pirot, Belgrade, Zrenjanin, Pančevo, Smederevo, Vranje and Zaječar and the administrations of the city municipalities Zemun, Lazarevac, Obrenovac, Stari grad, Vračar and Niška Banja.
