The Serbian-Korean Information Access Center of the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government appeared on the front page of the official website of the National Information Society Agency of the Government of the Republic of Korea as part of the public presentation of the project of opening “Information Access Centers” in over 50 countries. Our center is cited as an example of a project that is well implemented in practice. The National Information Society Agency points out that the Serbian-Korean Information Access Center is a multi-purpose facility consisting of an ICT training laboratory, an ICT complex, as well as two rooms for seminars and meetings. It is stated that the project aims to offer the available community a wide range of opportunities for the use and application of information and communication technologies, thus contributing to the development of the information society and bridging the digital divide. The National Agency for Information Society emphasizes on its website that the NIA helped create a general interior design in Belgrade, as well as equipping the space with the most modern computer equipment. The National Information Society Agency of the Government of the Republic of Korea was established in 1987 with the aim of contributing to the transformation of the Republic of Korea into a modern information society. The Agency is responsible for the overall support of the opportunities offered by information technology. The scope of work of the Agency is: providing expertise in the development and implementation of the National Framework for the Promotion of Informatization; management of information networks of public organizations; support for standardization and development of information communication; maintenance of information systems for inter-agency information exchange; support for the management of information resources in the public sector; support supervision, standardization and evaluation of job informatization; and providing IT consulting services to developing countries.
